About Debbie Marino, Campbell Realtor
Hi, I’m Debbie Marino. I am a Realtor and Broker-Owner of Campbell-Properties and Properties In Silicon Valley. I was born and raised in Campbell, CA, and I still make it my home.
My father used to own Marino Music School on Bascom Avenue between Dry Creek Road and Campbell Avenue. His music school was in the front, and we lived in the back for over 20 years, when Bascom Avenue was a two-lane road, the Pruneyard Shopping Center was an orchard, and there was a little grocery store called Pep’s near the Shell gas station at Bascom and Campbell. Wow, Campbell has really grown over the years!
The Benefits of Living in Campbell
I love Campbell. It has a small-town feel right in the middle of Silicon Valley. The downtown area is wonderful for shopping, quaint little boutiques, and great restaurants. I love the farmers’ market, wine walks, Boogie on the Avenue, and Oktoberfest . . . you can’t get much better than these. The Pruneyard Shopping Center also has great restaurants, a movie theater, and lots of shopping.
My Path to Becoming a Real Estate Agent and Broker
In addition to being a music teacher, my father has several real estate investments, so I grew up cleaning and painting apartments. I watched him build the family empire over the years and it piqued my interest in buying and selling properties. I finally decided to take my real estate exam to become a Realtor.
Once I received my license, I began working with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, and worked with them until 2017, at which time I decided to go out on my own. I love real estate. There’s nothing more satisfying than turning over the keys to new home buyers who are looking for their part of the American Dream, or placing the “Sold” sign in the front yard of the seller who’s moving on to bigger and better things.
After having my real estate license for a few years, I decided to get my broker’s license as well, which allows me to sell more than five units. This is exciting because I’m passionate about passive income. Tenants help pay your mortgage, and you build equity and/or long-term wealth without having to work a job! This is a long-term investment, but it sure pays off. Duplexes, triplexes, or fourplexes are a great way to start. Qualifying for financing is the same as for residential real estate, so there’s no extra work.
